Spiral-form topiary and hedging in the parterre at Bourton House
A view in the topiary garden in a courtyard at Bourton House, Gloucestershire.
The amazingly intricate designs in clipped box (Buxus sempervirens) include not only standard 'lollipops' and cones, but the most incredible spirals, spiral-edged and rope-edged low hedges. The shapes are so perfect and so rounded that they look as thought they have been produced with a piping bag!
