A large, magnifying raindrop on a Macleaya leaf
Droplets of rain, suspended on a glaucous leaf of Macleaya cordata 'Kelway's Coral Plume'.
The huge central droplet is acting like a magnifying glass, providing an enlarged view of the vein structure of the underlying leaf. Note the absolutely miniscule, perfectly spherical raindrops elsewhere on the leaf.
This is one of a sequence of two images in this gallery - a full-frame image and this enlargement from it.
