Geometry & symmetry in the Iris Garden, Doddington Hall
The Iris Garden at Doddington Hall, Lincolnshire, during 'Iris Week'. The formal, geometric beds feature concentric curved hedges of clipped box (Buxus sempervirens). They are planted with varieties of Iris germanica.
Doddington Hall is a fine late Elizabethan/early Jacobean country house near Lincoln. The extensive gardens, the house and estate have been enjoying sympathetic renovation and rejuvenation in recent years.
