Devil's Den dolmen, a portal tomb on Fyfield Down
The spectacular Neolithic dolmen 'Devil's Den', (also known as a portal tomb or quoit) on Fyfield Down, near Marlborough, Wiltshire, beautifully contrasted with a deep blue early Summer sky. The lush growth around the base of the quartzite megaliths is due to the minerals leached from the rock by the action of rain. It can be seen at many locations such as the nearby Avebury stone circles.
